As a mama of three little ones, I’m always on the lookout for fun, safe, and cool places to take my kids, especially during our hot Georgia summers. If you’re anything like me, you know the feeling of needing a change of scenery, somewhere your little ones can play and imagine, while you can take a deep breath, sip your coffee, and soak in the joy of watching them explore. That’s why I’m so excited to feature The Little Village on 13th in this month’s Spotlight Series. It’s not just another play space—it’s a place where community, family, and imagination come together in such a beautiful way.

A Place Built on Community and Connection

The Little Village is Columbus’s very first soft play café, designed with families in mind. Tucked right next to Midtown Coffee House, this sweet little space allows kids to play in their very own “tiny town,” while parents enjoy coffee, lunch, or simply a moment to connect. Their mission is simple but powerful: to create a peaceful, family-oriented environment that brings people together.

And the heart behind it? Community. Just like Midtown Coffee House, The Little Village on 13th was born out of a love for people and a desire to provide a space that shines with the love of Christ. Coffee and play may seem like a small pairing, but here, they’ve become the perfect recipe for connection.

Imagination Brought to Life

Inside their tiny town, kids will find a house (complete with its own construction zone!), a supermarket, a school, a veterinarian’s office, a mailroom, and even a miniature Midtown Coffee House. It’s the kind of play environment that invites little ones to step into the roles they see in everyday life—and trust me, they take it very seriously! My son Elliott always makes a beeline for the veterinary play space. He adores animals and loves pretending he’s the one helping them feel better. Watching those playful, imaginative moments unfold is such a sweet reminder of just how magical childhood really is.

A Place for Families to Breathe

What sets The Little Village on 13th apart isn’t just the creative play, it’s the atmosphere. Clean, safe, and thoughtfully designed, it’s the kind of place where both children and parents can feel at peace. For young families, it’s a spot to let the kids burn energy while you sip a latte. For grandparents, it’s a chance to join in the play and relive those sweet years with little ones. And for moms like us, it’s a reminder that community and encouragement matter. Parenting is joyful, but it can also be hard and overwhelming. Having a space like this, where kids can play and parents can connect, is truly a gift.

Why Families Love It

The heart of The Little Village shines through in the details. Everything was planned with families in mind, from the cleanliness of the space to the way it encourages parents and kids to play together. Families often describe feeling “something different” when they step inside—peace, joy, and a sense of being cared for. That’s exactly what the owners, Mike and Angie hoped for: that the Lord would use this space to bless the community and give families a place to feel refreshed.

More Than Just Play

Beyond daily play passes and memberships, The Little Village on 13th also hosts monthly family events. This month, on October 16th, they’re hosting a Box Car Drive-In Movie Night—the perfect memory-making evening for little ones and their parents. You can find more about upcoming events on their website.

A Word of Encouragement for Families

When asked what advice Mike and Angie would give to families, their response was simple: “Play with your kids!” Children thrive on time and attention, and The Little Village provides the perfect “props” to make playtime feel new and exciting again. Sometimes the days at home can feel long and repetitive, but having

Fun Indoor Activities for Kids in Columbus, GA

As a fellow mama, I can’t recommend The Little Village on 13th enough. Whether you’re looking for a spot to escape the heat, a safe place to let your little ones play, or a community where you can connect with other families, this sweet play café is worth a visit.

And while you’re planning fun outings with your little ones, don’t forget to think about capturing these fleeting seasons of motherhood and family life. My heart as a Columbus, GA photographer is to preserve these everyday joys—the giggles, the play, the togetherness—so you can look back on them for years to come.
