Columbus, GA Pumpkin Patches and Nearby Farms

OakHurst Farms

19710 GA Highway 219, West Point, Georgia 31833

If you have little ones, Oakhurst is a dream. It’s filled with joy, from large corn mazes to tiny kiddie mazes, a petting zoo, rubber duck races, wagon-wheel see-saws, and more. There are fields of pumpkins, and if you don’t want to tromp through vines, they have pre-picked pumpkins too. Don’t miss their open-air market full of local vendors, it’s a perfect place to pause, sip something warm, and take in the fall colors.

The Farm At Rocky Top

2910 Lee Road 145, Salem, Alabama 36874

Over the years, The Farm at Rocky Top has become a family favorite! Just across the river, this place feels like stepping into a storybook. Open woods, wide fields, rustic barns, and so many activities: my boys love the wagon rides, hay-bale mountains, pumpkin bowling, animal petting barn, inflatables, and they even a toddler section for your littlest ones. The setting is lush, relaxed, and ideal for family photos.

Auburn, AL Pumpkin Patches

Here are some pumpkin patches close to Auburn that you absolutely shouldn’t miss. Each of these has its own vibe, whether you want a rustic farm feel, something more adventurous, or full-on fall festivities with animals and rides.

Farmer in the Dell Pumpkin Patch (Auburn, AL)

6500 Lee Rd 137, Auburn, AL 36832

Farmer in the Dell is one of my favorite local gems. You pick your own pumpkins off the vine—big ones, small ones, they even quirky shapes ones! There’s a hay-ride that winds around the patch, flower fields, livestock, a crop maze for the older kids, and a hay bale play area for little ones. On Saturdays, concessions and ice cream add to the fun. It’s interactive, charming, and just the right pace for families.

Choctafaula Pumpkin Patch (Auburn, AL)

929 Co Rd 14, Auburn, AL 36830

Just about 10 minutes from downtown Auburn, Choctafaula is more than just picking pumpkins, it’s an all-day fall escape. Their patch is filled with beauty, and the activities are endless: a safari wagon tour with giraffes, zebras, and camels, a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables, games, and even a corn crib. There’s also the Choctafaula Café and gift shops, so you can enjoy food and bring home something special.

A Sweet Fall Detour: Apple Orchards to Visit

While pumpkins often steal the spotlight in fall, apple orchards deserve just as much love. There’s something so cozy about walking through rows of apple trees, the smell of ripe fruit in the air, and your basket filling up with crisp apples ready to be turned into homemade pies, apple crisps, or jars of spiced applesauce.

If you’re up for a little day trip from Columbus or Auburn, head north toward Ellijay, GA., famously called the Apple Capital of Georgia. Farms like B.J. Reece Orchards, Hillcrest Orchards, and Red Apple Barn welcome families for apple picking, cider sipping, and hayrides with mountain views. It’s a perfect way to lean into the flavors of fall and bring home not only pumpkins, but also apples for those delicious homemade desserts that make your kitchen smell like heaven.

Make the Most of Fall at Columbus, GA Pumpkin Patches

There’s something so special about loading up the car with your family, heading to a pumpkin patch, laughing through hayrides, and hunting for that just-right pumpkin. For me, it’s watching my boys’ faces light up with excitement as they race to the top of the hay mountain or flop down to make “angels” in the corn kernels, it’s those little moments that make fall feel like magic. And if you add apple picking into the mix, with baskets of crisp apples ready to be turned into pies and crumbles, you’ve got the perfect recipe for lasting memories.

If you’d love to capture your family in the middle of that autumn joy, I’d be honored to help. Whether it’s winding pumpkin vines, rustic fences, wide open fields, or rows of apple trees, we can make your fall vision come to life in a way that feels warm, effortless, and uniquely yours.
