Pregnancy is a journey like no other, filled with so much excitement, love, and—let’s be honest—sometimes a little bit of nerves. But there’s something undeniably magical about it all, and as a Columbus GA maternity photographer, it’s such an honor to witness that magic.


I recently had the privilege of capturing Denhi and Joshua’s maternity session, and let me tell you, it was a moment that will stay with me. From the moment they stepped into my studio, I could feel the love and excitement radiating off of them. You could just tell that they were on the brink of something life-changing, something beautiful.


Even though Columbus, GA weather can be unpredictable (one minute rain, the next minute beautiful and sunny), we had a moment of good luck. The day of their session was a mix of cloudy skies and chilly winds, but right when we started, the clouds parted and the sun peeked through—giving us the most stunning, soft light. It felt like the universe was giving us its blessing.


And then there was the sweet surprise. When Denhi and Joshua first reached out to me, they hadn’t found out the gender of their baby. But during the session, they shared the exciting  news, they were expecting a baby girl! The joy in their eyes when they said those words was contagious. It was as if everything had fallen into place in that moment and you could just feel their love for her growing by the second.

A Columbus, GA Maternity Session with Denhi & Joshua



Watching Denhi and Joshua together, I couldn’t help but smile. Their connection was so natural, so tender. The way they looked at each other, the way they held each other - it was a love story in the making. As a mama myself, I know those quiet, sweet moments before your baby arrives. The anticipation, the joy, the unknown. It’s all wrapped up in those final weeks before you meet your little one.


That’s what makes maternity sessions so special. They’re not just about capturing the belly or the glowing smile—they’re about freezing a moment in time where a family is on the brink of something life-changing. Denhi and Joshua’s love, excitement, and tender connection were so evident, and it was an honor to be able to document it all.
