As we get closer to fall--inarguably the best season of the year--it’s time to break out the hot cider and thick sweaters and start making plans with your family. As a Columbus photographer, I get to spend a lot of time hanging out with families as they head out to the most scenic areas all across the state. Now, I’m here to tell you about my faves so you can start to plan your autumn! If you are looking for the perfect destination for your family, here are these wonderful fall festivals in Columbus, GA!

Plan A Season Full Of Fun At These Great Fall Festivals In Columbus, GA

Pumpkins at Callaway

17617 US-27, Pine Mountain, Georgia 31822

Pumpkins at Callaway has everything you need for that ideal autumn day. This Columbus, GA resort features a fall festival with huge corn mazes, patches of giant pumpkins, and fields of sunflowers. There are plenty of interactive exhibits and photo opportunities. Because it is hosted by Callaway, you will get a chance to stay at the resort and make a weekend out of their vibrant nature trails.

Fall Food Truck Festival

1000 Bay Ave, Columbus, Georgia 31901

For one day each year, Woodruff Riverfront Park is transformed into an absolute haven for foodies. The annual festival happens on the last Saturday of October. You will have access to over 25 food trucks offering pretty much every cuisine you can imagine. Kids under the age of 10 are completely free, and all the adult admission fees go toward funding other free events throughout the year.

Fall Daze

19710 GA Highway 219, West Point, Georgia 31833

Fall Daze through Oakhurst Farm is one of my favorite fall festival destinations for younger Columbus, GA kids. This spot is tailored to kids ages 12 and under. You can check out pumpkin picking, barrel trains, interactive hayrides, rubber duck races, and corn mazes. While you are there, be sure to stop by the open-air market stocked with thoughtful gifts from local vendors.

The Cotton Fair

18830 Hwy 85, Gay, Georgia 30218

Since 1972, The Cotton Fair has been kicking off fall with some of the best festival pieces from local Columbus, GA vendors. The festival takes place the first weekend of May and October. While you are there, you will be able to check out antiques, art, and crafts. You can also listen to live music while feasting on some pretty fantastic Southern staples.

Lane Southern Orchards

50 Lane Road, Fort Valley, Georgia 31030

Lane Southern Orchards hosts Corn Maze Days every October. As its name might have led on, this event is known for its humongous 6-acre-large corn maze your entire family is going to adore. In addition, they have games, hayrides, and pumpkin painting stations. Kids 3 and under get in for free!
